Selenium – Installing IDE

The Selenium Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is an easy-to-use Firefox plug-in to develop Selenium test cases. It provides a Graphical User Interface for recording user actions using Firefox which is used to learn and use Selenium, but it can only be used with Firefox browser as other browsers are not supported.

Installing Selenium IDE –

Step 1– Launch Firefox browser and open URL http://seleniumhq.org/download/  to download selenium IDE from the SeleniumHQ download page.

Step 2 – Click on the latest version of Selenium IDE link within Selenium IDE section.

Step 3 – Firefox add-ons page displayed as shown below, Click the Add to Firefox button.

Step 4 – If Firefox protect you from installing add-ons so  you will need to click ‘Allow‘ to proceed with the installation.

Step 5 –  Click to Install button.

Step 6 – Firefox will show restart dialog to restart Firefox. Click on Restart Now.

Step 7 – After Firefox reboots you will find the Selenium-IDE listed under the Firefox tools menu. Go to Tools > Selenium IDE
